Helping your child learn…..

According to the United States Department of Education, children ages 5 to 11 attend school/class for an average of 180 days a year. In other nations, school years can last up to 240 days a year. How do we stimulate our children in order to keep the education going all year long?

As an educator and owner of a JEI Learning Center, Nina Vukovic provides services for children after school including Math, Problem Solving, English and Reading/Writing programs.

Some suggestions that come from the US Dept. of Education are as follows:

  • 1. Start to read to your children at an early age and make it a routine.
  • 2. Spread and set up reading materials at home like books, magazines and newspapers
  • 3. Show the children the value of reading
  • 4. Make sure if they are struggling to get help for them
  • 5.Provide activities for the children to learn..tell a story together, work on listening and speaking skills, and writing together to make it fun and eventful.

In addition to all this, use your resources like the learning centers that can enhance a child’s learning process. A few hours a week of working with an educated teacher on the side would be a great benefit and reinforcement to a child’s education. JEI Learning Center adds to a child’s math, reading and writing abilities. Also, helps them learn a confident way of taking a test and doing well on it.

As a few last thoughts, make sure you take time out of your day to work with their teachers in a productive and helpful manner. And, every child needs to feel good about themselves, so praise their accomplishments and minimize criticism.

Please call Nina Vukovic of JEI Mercerville for a FREE diagnostic and to discuss your child’s educational needs.
