The surest way to keep your vehicle's health in check is to be aware of your vehicular surroundings. If you think it is time for a quick check up, know that Beamer Tire & Auto Repair, Inc has been offering its auto maintenance and repair services in North Carolina with two shops — one in Greensboro and one in High Point.

Here are four tips to keep in mind to know when your car needs some servicing:

1. Routine Maintenance: Take a walk down memory lane and try to recall the last time you got your car checked out. The experts at Beamer Tire & Auto recommend that you get your vehicle scheduled for a routine maintenance check for every 15,000 to 30,000 miles logged.

2. Fluids: There are four types of fluids in your car — oil, antifreeze, brake, and transmission — and replacing them on time is essential. Your car is due for an oil change every 3,000 miles (unless you use synthetic oil, in which case it is 5,000 miles), and antifreeze fluid, brake fluid, and transmission fluid are changed every 30,000 miles.

3. Filters: Your car's air filter needs to be replaced every year or 12,000 miles (whichever comes first), and your fuel filter needs changing every two years or 24,000 miles (again, whichever comes first).

4. Tires: Rotate your tires every six months (or 5,000 miles) and be sure to check your tire pressure on a weekly basis. Additionally, keep an eye out for your tires' tread depth, as your tires will need to be replaced if the treads are less than 1/16 of an inch.
