When purchasing a new cooling and heating system, you want a unit that will not only run efficiently but also provide optimal comfort. At Mitsubishi Electric®, units fall into one of two broad categories: floor-mounted or wall-mounted. Both offer a unique set of benefits, so it pays to understand the difference between them.

Floor-Mounted Systems

Floor-mounted systems, as the name suggests, are situated on the floor. They are connected to refrigerant and power lines through a small hole drilled into the wall. Traditional floor-mounted units operate on a 100 percent cycle, meaning they are either 100 percent on or 100 percent off. Mitsubishi Electric’s cooling and heating systems, on the other hand, are much more efficient. They use an inverter-driven compressor that constantly monitors room conditions and adjusts the fans as necessary, keeping the room at the desired temperature while using less energy. They also possess hot-start technology to heat any room instantly.

Available in single and multi-zone, Mitsubishi Electric’s floor-mounted units contain eco-friendly washable filters that are easily accessible from the units front panels. Never again will you be caught without a clean filter!  Additionally, they allow you to control the cooling and heating system wirelessly – via your smartphone or tablet. Whether you’re away on vacation or simply at work, you can rest easy knowing your home will be at your preferred temperature upon your return.

Wall-Mounted Systems

cooling and heating systemLike the floor-mounted units, Mitsubishi Electric’s wall-mounted units connect to your home’s refrigerant and power lines. However, instead of resting on the floor, they are situated a few feet up the wall. But don’t let the appliance’s visibility discourage you. They come in a variety of colors – including glossy black, matte silver, and glossy white – so you can choose the cooling and heating system that complements your unique style. These models also come with wireless controls for convenience.

The main difference between floor-mounted and wall-mounted cooling and heating systems lies not in their location but their hardware. Floor-mounted units use an inverter-driven compressor to adapt to changing room conditions. Wall-mounted units, on the other hand, use return air sensors. Some models also have 3D i-see Sensors™, a type of infrared technology, that scan the room and adjust the temperature based on human heat signatures. Lastly, these systems offer multi-layer allergen filtration to trap dust, allergens, and other particles, thus improving your indoor air quality.

Both units promise unmatched efficiency and comfort.
