Denver Comic Con™

With a 2017 attendance record of close to 120,000, Denver Comic Con is expected to be the third largest comic event in America next year. A more recent convention, the event was first held in 2012 and has been very successful. What sets the Denver convention apart is its focus on storytelling; it was founded by a nonprofit that aims to improve children’s learning using comics as reading material. The next Denver Comic Con is scheduled for June 15 – 17 in 2018. 

San Diego Comic Con™

While the New York convention was first held in 2006, San Diego Comic Con has been around since 1970, and it’s still going strong with 167,000 attendees in 2015 when they were last counted. As one of the first conventions of its kind, San Diego Comic Con has always had a strong following and fans flock from all over the globe to attend. The convention features panels, workshops with well-known comic figures, and portfolio reviews for aspiring artists. The next San Diego convention will be July 19–22 in 2018. 

New York Comic Con™

With somewhere around 200,000 attendees in 2017, the New York Comic Con is currently the largest one around. Held at a convention center in Midtown Manhattan, it’s also one of the most fun locations to attend an event of any kind with thousands of shops, restaurants, and other attractions available to attendees just blocks away. The 2018 event is expected to attract even more comic fans, so booking a place to stay in advance is highly recommended. The convention is scheduled for October 4–7 in 2018.
