Those with family members suffering with Borderline Personality Disorder and other disorders of emotion dysregulation can benefit from education and a support system. According to the team at Choices Counseling & Skills Center in Sierra Madre, CA, loved ones with family members learning the necessary skills to cope with mental health issues are often better supported. Choices is offering an upcoming 12-week Family Connections workshop hosted by The National Education Alliance for Borderline Personality Disorder. Along with essential information about caring for your loved ones, the instructors delve into the various research surrounding the disorder.
Family Connections Educational Workshop
Workshop sessions will be held every Monday from 7 – 9 pm for 12 weeks starting on January 15, 2018, and ending on March 26, 2018. During this time, families and friends of those suffering from Borderline Personality Disorder and other emotion dysregulation disorders will learn the skills needed to help their loved ones and effectively communicate with them. Through this workshop based on the skills and strategies taught in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), attendees will also connect with other people who are in similar situations.
