Nothing dampens the fun of an event quicker than the inevitable cleanup that comes afterward. There are some things you can do, however, to help end your night on a positive note, and leave with a clean venue. The commercial cleaning experts at Compass Cleaning Solutions in Tempe, AZ, share with you a few event cleaning tips for your next party.

4 Event Cleaning Tips

1. Clean As You GoEvent cleaning

You don’t need to wait until the last guest leaves to start event cleaning. No one is suggesting you make your guests feel uncomfortable as you scurry around cleaning every little crumb. However, you can certainly take care of large spills, pretreat stains, tidy countertops, and take out the trash throughout the event. Keep cleaning supplies within easy reach so that you can keep the venue looking its best throughout the event.

2. Make It Easy for Guests to Help

Most guests are gracious enough to clean up after themselves, so make it easy for them to do so. Place trash cans and recycle bins at various locations throughout the party. Provide ample napkins as well so they can clean up small spills, and designate a spot for them to return used dishes, glassware, and utensils.

3. Handle Small Carpet Spills Immediately

A few kitchen towels or paper towels is all you need to deal with small spills. Remove food from the spill, and be careful not to press it into the carpet. Then wipe the area to remove as much liquid as possible. If you notice a stain, use a white microfiber towel with a solution of warm water and dishwashing liquid to dab the area clean. Make sure you blot the spill and don’t rub it, as this will only worsen the stain.

4. Thoroughly Clean Large Carpet Spills

For large spills, you’ll need several absorbent towels. First, spread a layer of towels over the entire carpet, and allow the towels to soak up the liquid. Once the towels become saturated, replace with them with a fresh layer. Continue this process until you remove a majority of the liquid. Next, lift the carpet and check for damage or staining underneath. If there is additional water, you’ll need to repeat the process of using towels to soak up the liquid. After you are confident all liquid is absorbed, you can then move on to drying the carpet. Usually, air drying will suffice; however, you may need to utilize fans or a dehumidifier to help the process.

By following these four easy tips, you can significantly decrease the end-of-night cleanup at your next party. If you would like professional event cleaning help, turn to Compass Cleaning Solutions.
