For kids, summer is a time of rest and relaxation. With no school work to worry about, or tests to cram for, what’s not to love?

A study done by Harris Cooper, a professor at Duke University however, sheds some light on what really happens during the months of summer vacation. His research showed that students on average, lose about a month’s worth of academic progress during vacation. He found that for math, the loss was much greater, and students typically scored far lower on identical tests given at the beginning of the school year, as opposed to the end. By giving stimulating a child’s mind during the summer break, not only can you help your child to to retain information, you can give him/her a leg up on the coming school year.

JEI Learning Center 2015 Summer Camp is now accepting registration for children between the ages of 3 to 14. This 8 week program aims to keep minds sharp by exercising much needed Math & English skills, as well as teaching students to think logically and critically. With flexible scheduling, JEI ensures that children get the academic attention they need, while leaving plenty of time for fun!
