Dr. Bert Sumikawa has a Bachelor's of Science and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He then received a specialty certification in pediatric dentistry and returned to Honolulu to practice. In his time, he has garnered many awards, including the honor of Fellow of the American College of Dentists. Dr. Bert is also an ordained Buddhist minister.

Dr. David Sumikawa completed his pre-dentistry studies at the University of Washington before attending Northwestern University to attain his D.D.S. degree, and he obtained his pediatric dentistry certification and Master of Science (M.S.) degree at the University of California-San Francisco. Following his specialty pediatric training, he trained in the Oral Medicine Department at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle before returning to Honolulu to enter private practice. He also serves on the Cleft and Craniofacial Team at Kapiolani Medical Centery for Women and Children and volunteers at The Queen's Medical Center.

Dr. Mark Sumikawa is a cum laude graduate of Santa Clara University where he obtained his B.S. He then attended UCLA for his D.D.S. degree and followed up this certification with residencies at both Veterans’ Administration Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah and the University of California-San Francisco, where he got his pediatric certification and also earned his Master of Science degree (M.S.). Dr. Mark has received many awards in pediatric dentistry, and in addition, he has made numerous kids’ television appearances as a dental consultant.

The newest addition to the Pediatric Dental Group is Dr. Lauren Jenni Imai. Born and raised in Honolulu, HI, Dr. Jenni graduated from the combined, accelerated B.A./ D.D.S. program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City where she was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society and also awarded the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Pre-Doctoral Student Award. She then completed her residency in pediatric dentistry at the University of California-San Francisco and also earned a Master of Science (M.S.) in Oral and Craniofacial Sciences. Since returning to Honolulu in 2007, Dr. Jenni has been in private practice and is excited to join this team.
