With the implementation of the Common Core State Standards, many parents have noticed big changes in what Kindergarten kids are being taught. And whether you are in support or against the Common Core, there is no denying that Kindergarten has become much more challenging. Under the new curriculum, children are expected to read and write much more fluently than before, and have a much deeper grasp of numbers. While studies have shown that children who learn to read early tend to perform better in school at higher grade levels, many parents wonder how their children will handle the more intense curriculum.

JEI Learning Center of Hasbrouck Heights believes that children are capable of accomplishing great things when presented in ways which foster a child’s desire to interact with others. Whether it be with other children or with their teachers, children enjoy being engaged. Stricter standards, don’t necessarily mean stricter lessons, and JEI aims to provide a positive early learning experience. We strive to build confidence in children, understanding that confidence is often a much overlooked foundation of learning. JEI provides supplemental educational material which in conjunction with their school work, can provide a boost in Math & English which sets a great precedent for future learning.
