2013-2014 Gifted & Talented & ERB Test Prep at FasTracKids/Eye Level

The time has come, another year has passed, another opportunity to get IN is ahead.

As many of you already know, FasTracKids has been a leader since 2003 in preparing young children in NYC to get accepted into the best public and private schools.

Our unique 3 step process for helping children get accepted is the most comprehensive system in NYChands down!

The process begins and ends with our FasTracKids Core "Gifted & Talented Development" Program.

Step 1 (The Most Important!)

Children come to our FasTracKids Core Program, 1 time per week for 2-hours, starting at Age 3 - 3.5 and focus on developing the key traits and characteristics of Gifted & Talented Children(Dr. Johann DeBeer's famous work), which include: Expanded Vocabulary (Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligence Approach, Aka:12 enrichment subjects), Concentration Skills, Communication Skills (Videotaped Speaking Opportunities), Leadership Skills (Shy kids don't do well on these types of tests), Critical Thinking, and Problem Solving Skills.

This program will help your child develop their confidence to tackle any problem head on, while expanding their verbal & non- verbal critical thinking skills.

FasTracKids will also further your child's  concentration skills so they can ace any test!

Step 2 (The step nobody wants to miss!)

This is the step that nobody seems to want to miss, although they tend to skip over step 1 (most of the time, a Very Big Mistake!).

NYC G&T & ERB Test Prep for 4 to 5 year olds.

This is when we go over examples of what will be on the actual test.  This is a very useful step, especially for those children who are already performing at a Gifted & Talented Level (90% of our FasTracKids Core Students can perform at this level!) but need the extra boost (Aka: a few extra points on the exam so they can qualify for citywide or to get that 98 or 99%).

You see, as all of you already know, if a child is a poor student and is lacking in fundamental skills, test prep will not solve the problem and help you ace the test.

Test Prep however will help you get a few extra points and boost your score.

Our 16 session course covers all areas which are tested on the ERB, OLSAT & NNAT®2

This year the course is available as early as this summer at 30% off or in the fall at 10 % off if you enroll by June 30th, 2013.

Step 3

Starting at age 4, your child can start our Enopi/Eye Level Math & Critical Thinking Program.  Enopi's Comprehensive critical thinking program covers at least 2/3 of the disciplines tested in both the ERB as well as the OLSAT, NNAT®2, and much later on the SAT's.

Eye-Level, is avaiable all year round!

Both of my sons 6.5 and 4.5 years old started Fastrackids @ the Hylan Blvd. location from since they were about 3. Older one already finished this two-year program and younger one still have about six months to go. We love it!

I am really happy with this program. It introduces kids to a wide range of subjects in a fun way that creates a strong foundation - base of knowledge and inquisitiveness that helps them to be curious and creative, to be thinkers. The class lasts two hours and my boys had no problem being there for that amount of time - on the contrary, they both love it, well, most of the time. By the way, they are not the quite types - it not easy for them to sit still, but they manage there. Though, the children do not sit on one spot all the time during the class - the activities are always changed.

Their teacher Mrs. Michelle is excellent. She is so wonderful with kids! Every time I go there I want to praise her for being so patient and attentive with children. Franco, the owner and manager, is knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. He created a welcoming atmosphere for kids and parents. The facility is nice and colorful.

Both of my boys took a Gifted and Talented test (older son for a second time) this year and they both got 99% - the highest score.  Before that, they both took another class - G and T preparation offered at this location. My older one took this prep class, though, two years back when he was tested for the first time.  After Fastrackids, he took Eye-level classes (former Enopi) there, which include math, English and critical thinking for about a year. So, this time, on the test he got his second 99%. In my opinion, having Fastrackids education earlier was really important in achieving this result. And a combo of all these classes was a winning one. Plus, of course, both boys are also bright.

Some parents say that this program is expensive and do not seem to give results. To this, I would say - yes, it is not cheap, but totally worth it. Because this age - up to 6 years old is so crucial for kids when they can absorb and learn the most. It is important to expose them early on to many things in life. Though, I did questioned the effectiveness of Fastrackids earlier myself when it seemed that my kids couldn't remember much from the class. But doubts disappeared when later on the boys started using the facts and info from the classes during the conversations down the line. This knowledge stays with them, may be not always the details and the proper names, but their horizon is definitely expanded due to that.

My daughter had 1:1 tutoring sessions for the g&t with Mrs. Maria. Maria was so caring and dedicated to her. She always knew the right way to explain things to my daughter without frustrating her. The sessions were productive and Maria was able to use the smart board to break up table time while continuing with test prep. I liked that I was able to watch the whole session on the TV's in the lobby. My daughter also enjoyed working toward a prize by earning "star cards" after each session.  We recieved the results and she is eligible for the g&t program! She scored in the 95th percentile and the 99th on the NNAT! Thank you Mrs. Maria and Fastrack.
