Anacortes’ Island Hospital has long been recognized as one of the top medical treatment centers in Washington state. Michael Jones, MPAS-C, will be available to treat patients 6 years and older who are living with a variety of headache-related conditions, including migraines, tension headaches, facial pain, and post-traumatic head pain. 

About J. Michael Jones

hospital Anacortes WAJones is available to patients Monday through Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. He works at the hospital’s Center for Pain Management, in Suite C.

Jones brings a tremendous amount of experience to this position. He’s published 29 articles in medical journals and frequently serves as a guest lecturer at educational events.

Early in his career, Jones co-founded the nation’s first inpatient headache center with associate Joel Saper, MD. A few years later, Jones began working in Egypt to treat refugees as part of Mediterranean Medical Resources of Cairo. Upon returning to the United States, he took on the role of headache specialist at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.

Over the years, Jones has worked hard to further his understanding of headache treatment, as well as the medical community’s body of knowledge. His efforts were recognized in 2012 when the National Headache Foundation made him the first non-physician to be certified in headache medicine. Now that he’s joining the Anacortes community, Jones is eager to offer treatment based on the latest research and innovations.
