Fast, Healthy, and Delicious...Oh My!!

Sounds like music to your ears right?  Losing weight is complex, however good nutrition is key. Consuming Protein, Fat, & Carbs are important for a healthy weight loss.  Look for recipes that include fruits, vegetables, lean meat, and whole grains.  Trying new foods you haven’t tried in a long time. This may get you exciting about eating healthfully.  Eat whole foods as much as possible, eat often (at least 3 times per day), and drink your water in between.  When you are can’t make this happen meal replacements work well and can keep you from consuming excess calories from fast food, etc.

Here are a few Dinner suggestions that are Fast & Healthy:

Turkey Sausage, Spinach with Pesto Whole Wheat Penne Pasta

Brown turkey sausage in skillet over medium heat with chopped onion. Once browned, add fresh spinach and cook, stirring constantly until spinach is wilted.  Add prepared pesto and bit of olive oil and stir.  Cook pasta according to package directions and combine with sausage pesto mixture. Top with parmesan cheese.

Chicken Salad with Fruit and Nuts

Combine diced cooked chicken breast with a diced apple or pear, red grape halves, chopped celery, onion, and pecans.  Add reduced fat mayonnaise and salt and pepper. Serve on whole wheat bread or a bed salad greens.
