Yes you are and we hear this on a regular basis.  What are they going to do to me?  Will they take my belongings?

There are some things that might comfort you regarding this. First, if we represent you we talk to the IRS agents when you sign IRS form 2848 power of attorney for us and you don’t.

We are respectful of the IRS agents but aren’t scared of them.  We have extensive experience and training in representing taxpayers and deal with their agents on a regular basis.  We make sure their agents don’t impair taxpayer’s rights, follow the law, and provide sufficient documentation on any position they are taking.

The IRS did less than 500 seizures nationwide last year.  It’s unlikely that would happen to you.  If you get in compliance and get a plan to resolve your issues you can feel confident this won’t happen to you.
