1. Instill a Love for Reading & Writing 

Often, youngsters love to emulate their parents. If they see you reading and writing at home, they’ll be more likely to try it themselves. To generate interest, tell them what you enjoy about the books you are reading or the stories you’re writing.  

2. Create a Special Reading Nook 

Kids will be more enthusiastic about reading if they have a special place to do it. Set aside space in your home for a designated reading area. Fill it with books based on their interests, including titles they already love and new finds you think they will enjoy. 

3. Incorporate Storytelling Into Routine Activities

When running errands or taking the kids to school, use the car ride as an opportunity to create a story. Point out a few things you pass by on the road, and have little ones develop a story based on what they see. When they get back home, encourage them to write the tale down on paper.
