Windows Plus, voted Cincinnati’s best window company for the past three years in a row by Consumers’ Choice Awards, offers more than just the best quality replacement windows.  We also offer the best storm doors around.  But with all the options available today, what type of storm door should you purchase for your home?

The first thing to consider is how much glass you want in your storm door.  Do you want a full view door, or perhaps a half view?  Or maybe you’re considering something in between.

If you have a beautiful entry door, you may not want to cover it with a storm door unless you use a full view system.  This allows you to show off your entry door with minimal obstruction from your new storm door.  However, if showing off your entry door isn’t a priority, you may consider a half-view or quarter-view storm door system.

The second thing to consider is ventilation.  If you do not plan on using your storm door for ventilation, a standard glass insert would be your best option.  Usually they come with a separate screen insert, which you can store when not using.

However, if ventilation is something you’re looking for, there are two convenient options available besides the separate screen insert.  Retractable screens and self-storing screens.

A retractable screen, like in our Spectrum series storm doors, give the best of both worlds.  They offer an unobstructed view when the glass is closed, and they conveniently retract from the top and/or bottom when you want to ventilate.

A self-storing screen operates much like a double-hung window:  the screen is always in view, and you can slide the glass sash up or down to ventilate.

Whatever your needs, you can rest assured that when you purchase your storm door from Windows Plus of Cincinnati or Windows Plus of Dayton that you will receive the best quality craftsmanship in the industry.  Not to mention a life-time warranty as well!
