A summer road trip, whether it’s to a favorite destination or parts unknown, is a terrific way to relax, see the sights, and enjoy your time off. However, before you depart, it is prudent to take care of any auto maintenance or car service needs that could interfere with your trip. 1. Check the Oil

Checking the engine oil is an important auto maintenance tasks. Pull the dipstick to make sure the level is satisfactory, and check the color and consistency to see if the oil needs changing. New oil is mostly translucent and amber colored. If it is dark brown or black and coarse in texture, you should have it changed immediately.

2. Check the Tires

Make sure your tires are in good shape before commencing on a road trip. Stick a quarter between the treads to check tire wear. Lastly, inflate your tires properly for the most responsive handling and best fuel economy.

3. Check the Coolant Level

5. Check the Wipers & Fluid
