Your HVAC system provides you with the warmth you need in the winter and the ventilation and air conditioning you need during the summer. The unit operates throughout the year working hard to maintain the temperature inside of your space. But, what happens when this unit fails? Who do you turn to for HVAC repair? When looking for an air conditioner repair specialist, you’ll need to ask some questions first.

4 Questions to Ask an HVAC Contractor

1. How Much Experience Do You Have?

It’s important for the company you hire to have adequate experience to service your furnace and AC unit. You don’t want someone who is inexperienced causing more problems and leaving you with a hefty repair bill.

2. Do You Have Any References?

HVACIt doesn’t hurt to ask to contact former clients to see what they have to say. If the company is confident in the quality of work performed, this won’t be a problem. They should be able to refer you to a couple of customers who are happy to answer your questions about the service they received.

3. Is There a Warranty?

Make sure you ask if there’s any warranty on the work performed. If something goes wrong again with the same component, you need to know you’re covered and not going to be stuck paying for the same repair multiple times.

4. Are You Properly Insured?

Good HVAC contractors always carry their own insurance. This protects you if something did happen and if they were injured at your home. It’s important for the contractor to have some type of liability insurance in place.

By asking the questions above, you can rest assured knowing you’re getting an HVAC tech who has your best interest at heart.
