Share Your Love, Wagoner, Oklahoma

Share Your Love,

It’s been almost a year since I walked into the Yorkshire Village in Wagoner, Oklahoma to give a presentation on our Be Remembered program to the seniors. Never in a million years could I have ever imagined what would blossom out of that day. The love that has been gifted to me from each resident and the relationships that will last beyond eternity.  In this past year, they have taught me how to laugh and enjoy each moment in life. I’ve also learned that when God sends you somewhere it’s for a good reason if you will just listen and obey than you will be blessed. God will have you somewhere until your work is done and then He will move you. As Jason, I and the kids did our last in house big event with them on July 15, 2017 I could feel my heart break in a million pieces. I realized how much they have become a big piece of our family and how much each one them brought us such joy and love. I will forever be thankful for the love they have given to our family.

I had never really and honestly realized how important it was to share your love and time with the elders in your community until now. I have witnessed many heartbreaking moments because of the way that people treat them. I urge everyone to be more respectful to the elders around you and take the time to stop into a nursing home or senior living facility and show your love and respect. They are very important to our community and the younger generations have what they have because of the hard work seniors have put in. Take the time to sit down and listen to their stories and absorb the wisdom and knowledge. There’s a reason why God tells us in his word to respect our elders. Be the light for them and share your love and joy with them and allow them to teach you about life.

In the next upcoming months, we will be working on several different projects to help bring life and hope to the seniors in the Wagoner and surrounding communities. We will be opening a rock shop called “Rocks of Faith” on our farm located in Hulbert, called Mossy Rock Farms. The rock art work will be created with rocks located on our creek.  The finances that are raised will be used to send seniors on their dream trips as well to help those who don’t have the financial means to purchase medicine, food or any other living expenses.

I would like to close this writing by saying “Thank You” to the residents at the Yorkshire Village who have impacted our lives and allowed us to be a part of yours. We love you and are excited to take the next step in our journey together with you, God and lot’s of faith.
