The Second Stage

It can take a few weeks for your crown to be custom manufactured. However, if the lab is equipped with a more advanced machine, they can make same-day crowns. When the permanent crown is ready, the temporary version will be removed. Next, the dentist will make sure the crown fits flush with the rest of your teeth. Using a special cement, the specialist will affix the crown to the prepared tooth.

Caring for Your Crown

In general, most patients can expect their crowns to last around seven years. However, it’s still important to take good care of them. In addition to regular brushing and flossing, avoid hard foods that could crack your crown’s surface.
