EVENT

Event Information

There is something magical about summer nights in Waimea Valley. The balmy breeze passing through the mountains straight to Waimea Bay, the pink and orange sunsets, and of course the brightly lit moon and stars. Apart from the world class botanical garden, the 45 foot natural rain fed waterfall, and archaeological Hawaiian cultural sites spread throughout the Valley, this summer season Waimea Valley presents events in the evening for the whole family to enjoy.

On Thursday July 6th, the Valley will kick off the evening with the Farm Lovers farmers’ market that takes place every Thursday from 2 pm to 7 pm.  Waimea Valley Farmers Market Vendors bring in local produce, arts & crafts, live music, and prepared foods ranging from brick oven pizzas, ahi poke, and handmade flavored ice slush.

At 7:30 pm once the sun sets, enjoy Screen on the Green, a free outdoor movie located right on the main lawn. Bring your beach chair or blanket and settle in under the stars for a fun family film.

The evening ends with the Moon Walk and dinner buffet by Ke Nui Kitchen. Once a month from April to October guests are invited to walk through the Valley under the glow of the full moon. The moon walk has become a memorable experience for both residents and visitors. The one hour stroll starts at 8 pm and ends at 10 pm. Have the pleasure of experiencing the nocturnal sights and sounds of the Valley. If you purchase a dinner buffet admission into the Moon Walk is included. Dinner buffet is $29.95 for adults and $12.95 for children ages 4-12 years old and starts at 6 pm.  You can find information to all events by visiting www.waimeavalley.net. The following dates for last Screen on the Green are Thursdays June 29th, July 6th, and July 13th. Dates for the late Moon Walk & Dinner Buffet are Thursday July 6th, Saturday August 5th, Sunday September 3rd, and Sunday October 1st. Reservations for the Moon Walk dinner buffet can be made ahead of time on the website as well. For further questions call (808) 638-7766.
