Applying to Trade School? Here’s What to Expect, Queens, New York

Switching to a new career is challenging, but with the right training, the process can be much easier. Enrolling in a trade school is a simple way to prepare for a new career with hands-on experience and high-quality instruction from industry professionals. The Application

Before you can enroll in the trade school and begin training for a new career, you’ll need to fill out an application. This simple online form will ask you for basic information as well as your educational background that illustrates your ability to complete the courses in your chosen concentration. General Education Requirements

Trade schoolAfter your application has been received, the enrollment staff will need to see a copy of your education credentials. High school diplomas and GED certificates satisfy this requirement fully. However, if you do not have either a diploma or a GED certificate, the faculty may request an “Ability-to-Benefit” test to assess your readiness to attend and complete your chosen curriculum. If you’re interested in scheduling an “Ability-to-Benefit” assessment, contact the trade school after completing your online application.

Schedule a Pre-Admission Interview

Before enrolling in your chosen technical trade curriculum, you’ll need to schedule a pre-admission interview with an admissions representative at Berk Trade and Business School. This interview provides you with an opportunity to ask questions about the technical institute and assesses your readiness to attend a trade school. Once the interview is complete and all other requirements are met, you’ll be admitted to the school and allowed to enroll in classes.
