After a year’s planning and preparation our BIG Day finally came on Sunday, June 4, 2017, Lake Front Stage, 7-8 PM, to present OUR loving tribute to our Beloved Columbia on ‘her’ 50th Birthday in the form that we know best, a Concert, and we called it THE SUZUKI MUSIC SCHOOL OF MARYLAND CELEBRATES COLUMBIA’S 50TH BIRTHDAY!!!

We could not have done it without every single ONE OF YOU—you were ALL magnificent! Everyone involved ‘played’ their part to the utmost benefit of ALL, and thank goodness our COLLECTIVE PRAYER FOR NO RAIN was apparently ‘Heard Upstairs’ as we were Blessed with the best weather imaginable—SO fortunate as we did NOT have an alternate ‘Rain Date!’

Check out our Concert Program. However, we again give our SINCERE THANKS TO:

Maryls East, Managing Director, Columbia’s 50th Birthday, Columbia Association,  for all her help with the initial scheduling the perfect date, time, and venue for our Event, and arrangements throughout the year (who I found out TODAY, was able to attend our Event, and said she “loved it”—I DO hope I did not misquote her!!!); Albie Stepowany, Donation of Recording Services; James Ferry, James Ferry Photography, Donation of Photography Services; Phil Heiliger, Maryland Piano Service, Donation of beautiful Grand Piano/Professional Duet Bench for Stage; Marsha Harding Stepowany, advisor and friend who infallibly guides me in making the ‘right decisions’ in advertising and design of Suzuki materials and Robert Poling, Thunder Grafix, Ltd., Donation of beautiful Programs and Design of Flyer Announcement; Chris, CA, for Stage Management and Sound; Ronald, Columbia Archives, CA, for chronicling our Event by taking pictures to be included in Columbia’s 50th Birthday ‘history!’*

Thank you thank you thank you to ALL for a wonderful experience, where the journey was as much fun as the ‘destination’ in celebrating our Beloved Columbia’s 50th Birthday!

By all counts, the comments about our Event were very positive, successful, mostly loving it,  from everyone, including Participants, Families, and Friends!

Let’s all ‘raise our glasses’ and toast to Columbia’s next 50 years, may they be as wonderful and historic as the first 50 years!!!
