History

In ancient times, headstones were often nothing more than a pile of rocks. By the 1650s, they began to look more like those you see today. Construction

The creation of a headstone typically begins with a worker, a pneumatic drill, and a stone quarry. The drill must dig holes at least 20 feet deep into the stone, about one inch apart. Using steel teeth, drill bits must gradually be added to penetrate deep into the rock’s core. The blocks will then go to a manufacturing house, where they will be divided into smaller sizes.

The headstone will then be carefully carved with a specific shape, size, and design in mind.
