Educational decisions can be tough. On top of the many options within general schooling, some parents also struggle with whether or not to send their children to private school. Many students today will get a classic education in both conventional and unconventional school settings. Though most public schools are rising to meet the standards set by private schools, a high number of parents still opt to send their children to the latter.

The teachers and staff of High Point Friends School, a coeducational, independent school located in North Carolina serving students in preschool through middle school, are dedicated to providing the best in academics to students regardless of age or ability. Enrollment in the school continues to grow as parents in High Point seek out the best education for their little ones.

private schoolThe multi-building campus was founded in 1963 as a preschool and half-day kindergarten by members of High Point Friends Meeting. The school is operated under the Quakers; throughout history, Quakers have been known for their strong commitment to education, diversity, and spiritual development.

The Honbarrier Education Center, named in honor of Archie and Louise Honbarrier after a generous donation to the school, is located in the Lower School building and was dedicated on Sunday, September 18, 2003.

Currently, the campus is expanding to include a gymnasium, theater, new dining hall, a library, eight additional classrooms, and a computer lab. This expansion is an answer to the middle school’s foreseeable future growth.

The High Point Friends Meeting House, first constructed in 1955, is a pivotal piece of area architecture. High Point Friends School’s campus buildings were designed with that same Georgian-style in mind. Because of this, the school blends seamlessly with the Meeting House.
