Historic buildings boast so many charming elements. But even though the property may have been built with integrity, some features will require extensive renovations to get up to modern code. Baybrook Remodelers in West Haven, CT, is here to share a recent home remodeling project they completed on an 85-year-old property. In addition to commercial construction, they also offer home additions and kitchen and bathroom remodeling.

When you’re conducting a home renovation on a beautiful property that’s nearly a century old, you’ll want to preserve and restore as many elements as possible. That’s exactly the approach Baybrook Remodelers took with West River Hall. Now a banquet hall, the 9,000-square-foot facility was originally built as a sanctuary for Italian immigrants in 1932. The home remodeling team first opened up the side walls, allowing light to pour into the building for the first time in 38 years. The commercial construction project also included a complete replacement of the floors and ceiling.

Baybrook Remodelers painstakingly preserved the 63-year-old quarry tile floor in the kitchen, while upgrading the bar into a gorgeous custom oak piece. Every corbel was carefully carved by hand. The kitchen now earns consistently high scores on health inspections.

The final stage of the home remodeling at West River Hall included converting a hidden attic space into an intimate bridal suite, as well as constructing a new deck with an al fresco bar and hangout area.
