Kreative Kama'aina Enterprises, LLC located in Honolulu, Hawaii, manufactures custom drapery panels and fabric shades with attached lining. The lining serves multiple purposes in addressing the design specifications of the window treatment.

Aesthetically, attached lining fabrics provide uniformity to the back side of the drapery panels and fabric shades.  Although fabrics of different designs and colors may adorn the interior of separate rooms, a common attached lining fabric will provide a consistent and harmonized appearance from the exterior. Attached lining fabrics also provide more fullness or body to the drapery thereby projecting a softer and more elegant presentation.

In achieving room privacy or complete room darkening, dimout and blackout lining fabrics (available in printed or solid colors) may be found at Kreative Kama'aina or viewed on their website at www.kreativekamaaina.com. In utilizing these room darkening lining fabrics with drapery panels, the blackout fabrics may be sewn attached to the face fabric or hung separately to better control lighting conditions in the room.  It should be noted that dimout fabrics provide roughly 94% room darkening features as opposed to 100% blackout conditions.  Please consult with Kreative Kama'aina to achieve complete blackout conditions as the appropriate mounting hardware and installation techniques are necessary to achieve these requirements.

Attached lining extends the life of the typically more expensive face fabric of the window treatment as it provides protection from direct sunlight and ultra violet rays.  The additional layer of fabric in an attached lining window treatment also reduces noise and moderates temperature in both cold and hot climates.

For a more economical approach to lining draperies, consider utilizing loop liners as an easy application to existing drapery panels. In addition, budget lining with translucent fabrics are also available at Kreative Kama'aina.
