What happens in an Eye Level Learning Center?

Every day, students from around the world arrive at their local Eye Level Center to develop essential math and English abilities. Founded by Young Joong Kang, PhD, who’s key insight was to create an approach to skills mastery that took the individual student’s point of view as the foundation for all learning. the Eye Level Program has now helped millions of children worldwide through a step-by-step curriculum, with instruction individualized for each student’s specific needs and abilities. Twice a week, students spend 1 Hour (per subject) working on math and/or English assignments at their local Eye Level Center. Assignments are completed under the teacher’s supervision and are graded on the spot so that any incorrect problems are fixed by the student. This process is called mastery learning. Successfully completing an assignment brings a sense of achievement that empowers Eye Level students to take on the next one. When finished for the day, students leave the center with assignments to be completed at home. When they come back to the center those assignments are checked for mistakes and also corrected by the student until they achieve 100%. Tutoring is a short-term solution dependent on someone explaining and teaching concepts to those seeking assistance. Unlike tutoring, Eye Level helps students develop skills needed to study independently and advance beyond their grade level, with the guidance of the Eye Level Instructor. Through this development of self-sufficiency, Eye Level Students become confident and motivated with each completed assignment.

Does Eye Level have an incentive program for children?

Eye Level has a loyalty program called “Reach for the Stars” that rewards students for investing time in their development through the Eye Level Program. As students’ progress through the program gaining valuable skills along the way, points are earned each month. As they accumulate, star cards can be exchanged for exciting rewards.
