If you’re getting ready to relocate to a new location, it’s crucial you prepare your appliances for moving day. Unfortunately, the staff at S & S Delivery, a Honolulu moving company serving all of Oahu, is not able to relocate heavy electrical or gas appliances until they’ve been disconnected, cleaned, and prepped to be shipped to the new location.

For those of you who aren’t sure where to start, here is a short list of easy ways to prepare your appliances for the local Honolulu moving company:

  • Disconnect: A few days before movers arrive, disconnect your electrical appliances from the power outlet. Your gas appliances will need to be disconnected by your gas supplier to ensure your property and family are safe during the process.
  • Honolulu moving companyClean: Once all of your appliances — including your washer and dryer, dishwasher, refrigerator, and stove — have been disconnected, clean them thoroughly from the inside out. Empty out your fridge and freezer and give all of your appliances at least a day to dry out before the moving company arrives.
  • Secure: The final step to preparing your appliances for the move is securing them for the road. Tape all drawers and doors shut and secure any parts that may become loose during relocation. Once everything is ready to go, the movers will load them into the back of their truck and unload them at your final destination.

Failing to complete these tasks could result in your moving company not being able to move your appliances to your new location on the day you’ve planned. To find out how to prepare the rest of your belongings for the move, contact S & S Delivery by calling (808) 833-1857 or visiting them online for a complete list of services. You can also find the Honolulu moving company on Facebook.
