LeVeck Lighting Products’ Monday Morning Devotional
It is so wonderful to work for a company that prays. And we pray for everything! We pray after every meeting, we pray before meals, and we often stop and pray when we feel it is necessary.
Each Monday morning all employees are invited to a voluntary meeting in our conference room. We gather around the table and share what each of our highlights were for the weekend. While this may seem like a small action, it has proven to be much more. We have come to learn about each other’s families. Our commonalities and well as differences, all shared in a loving environment. It has built relationships within our LeVeck family, and you won’t find this type of family in your usual workplace.
We follow our stories by reading from Tony Dungy’s book “Uncommon Life/Daily Challenge.” It is funny how each week’s message always seems to be the one we need, that pertains to a current challenge we are facing. God works in mysterious ways! (I don’t think they are so mysterious, I just think God works.)
This week’s reading really hit home with so much that is going on in our country. Even the first line stands out as if he wrote it just for today. And the best part of the reading is the UNCOMMON KEY. It give you something to work on as you progress throughout your week. This week it asks us to “approach conflict as an opportunity to learn something. It is often a catalyst for positive change and the best way to grow in understanding.”
I think we could all use this advice right now. Take a step back, breathe, and have a conversation. LISTEN! You may just learn something. Try to see how you can turn the situation into a positive. Even if that is just learning how to get along while disagreeing.
Approach one another with love and the rest should come easy.
After our devotional reading and discussion, we bow our heads and pray. We pray for one another, for our company, for our intentions, and for guidance. What better way to start a week?
