People v. A.C. (10/16)

          Mr. Corletta scored a complete “shut out” while representing a client charged with 13 points worth of traffic tickets in two different courts. In People v. A.C. (10/16), the client was charged, in a distant jurisdiction in the Southern Tier of New York, approximately 200 miles from his Rochester office, with Speeding and Following Too Closely (7 points). His client, a student who resided in a New York City area, was also charged, at approximately the same time, with a 6 point Speeding violation in the City of Rochester.

          Mr. Corletta achieved outright dismissals of all charges, thereby saving his client a potential of 13 points, which would have resulted in a certain license suspension. Usually, such cases involve reductions. It is rare to pitch a so-called “shut out” in 2 different jurisdictions, thereby restoring the client to “clean” license status.
