In vitro fertilization (IVF) is when your eggs are retrieved and then fertilized with sperm in a lab. After about five days, the fertilized eggs are transferred into the woman’s uterus. About two weeks later, the IVF physician will check for pregnancy. If a woman has poor-quality or no eggs of her own for fertilization, then she is a good candidate for donor egg IVF, in which the eggs of a donor are fertilized with sperm and the embryos are then transferred into the intended parent’s uterus.

Egg Freezing

Egg freezing, or oocyte cryopreservation, is a great option for women who want to defer pregnancy due to age or medical treatment for cancer.  Using a rapid freezing technique, the fertility doctors allow patients to store eggs for later use.

Surrogacy

Gestational surrogacy is a good option for women who don’t have a uterus or who have experienced multiple miscarriages. In the gestational surrogacy cycle, the surrogate will carry the pregnancy for the intended parent couple..

No matter which path to parenthood you choose, the fertility specialists at Pacific In Vitro Fertilization Institute will make sure all of your questions and concerns are addressed.
