Breast Cancer Awareness Month is about, you guessed it, awareness! That means trying to increase awareness of the disease by educating as many people as possible.
Here at LeVeck Lighting Products and Maintenance we have been honoring our own employees who have battled this disease and won. This month is about sharing educational content and we have been doing our part on social media.
Join us by re-posting Breast Cancer educational materials or photos of how you are supporting awareness! We have pink boas in our office and our customers have loved posing in them for the cause! In my search for additional material to post, I found the following campaign that I found very moving. It is the real stories of breast cancer from women who have been in the battle. I hope you will find something that touches your heart that you can share with someone else.
The Bring Your Brave campaign provides information about breast cancer to women younger than age 45 by sharing real stories about young women whose lives have been affected by breast cancer.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the United States. While breast cancer mostly occurs among older women, in rare cases breast cancer does affect women under the age of 45. Eleven percent of all cases of breast cancer in the U.S. are reported in this age group. Risk for breast cancer among young women varies based on factors such as family and personal history of cancer. Many young women do not know their risk for this disease or are not aware of ways to lower their risk. @CDCgov
