Monday and Tuesday

Monday was quite a day. We learned about dinosaurs for a bit, and then we made our own paleontologist jackets. After we had this big sand block (shown above) and dug up a dinosaur fossil with it.

On Tuesday we made a dinosaur skeleton model, dug up more of the dinosaur fossil in the sand block (it took a while), and we made dinosaur fossils using toy dinosaurs and clay. This worked by taking the toy dinosaur, and placed the feet, let's say, on the clay. This would make footprints.

Wednesday and Thursday

On Wednesday we did a lot of word-searches and mazes about dinosaurs. After this, we were given two maps; a modern day map, and the map of the world when the dinosaurs were around. Then, we cut out the land pieces from the modern day map and pasted them where they were in the prehistoric map. After this we played some dinosaur games on the smart board.

On Thursday we made dinosaur fossils using pasta, a big paper Iguanodon to hang up in the classroom, and we dug up some dinosaurs in sand blocks, again. When we were done we put the fossils we found in the block together. Then we did some word searches on the dinosaurs.
