Choosing healthy, fresh food for your family is one of the best decisions you can make. Kahuku Farms, located on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii, prides itself on its farm-to-table options, offering locally grown, fresh food. Farm-to-table refers to producing fresh ingredients locally and delivering it to consumers, advocating sustainable agriculture, and gathering the community’s food source from reliable, local farms and food producers. The goal is to offer the freshest ingredients possible and educate people in a healthier lifestyle while supporting local agriculture.

Farm-to-Table Food at Kahuka FarmsLike other farm-to-table establishments, Kahuku Farms Café focuses on incorporating their locally grown fruits and vegetables into all of their menu items.  From the hydroponic lettuce in each carefully crafted salad to the apple bananas in all of their dairy-free smoothies, you are sure to notice the level of freshness that is only possible at a farm-to-table eatery. In addition to the delicious menu, Kahuku Farms also has some of their own fresh produce for sale at the Café. Some of the items that are available for purchase include Laie Gold papayas, apple bananas, kale, and Japanese long eggplant, as well as a variety of other seasonal fruits.

A big component of the farm-to-table aspect at Kahuku Farms is educating and informing guests that most of the food they are eating was grown right on site. Hydroponic lettuce and kale are among some of the crops that are visible right from the Café seating area. Interested guests are welcome to walk around a portion of the farm to see how other fruits and vegetables are grown. Kahuku Farms Café uses as much of their own produce as possible on their menu, and whatever they do not grow themselves, they source from other local farmers.

Kahuku Farms offers tours for guests to learn more about its history, crops, and family legacy. Take a tractor-pulled wagon ride through their commercial operations and see for yourself what it takes to produce fresh food locally. For more information on the farm, the Farm Café, or to book tours visit their website or call (808) 628-0639.
