It’s that time of year, summer vacation. The days are bright and sunny, everyone is cutting grass every other week. The tantalizing aroma of hamburgers on the grill is in the air. Soon, winter will be approaching and it will be time to think about the weatherstripping in your windows to keep the cold air out.

There are advantages of replacing the weatherstrip in your windows now, rather than waiting until winter. You can replace the weatherstrip in one or two units a night which will get the job done pretty quickly. This will allow you to have your weekends free for more enjoyable and larger tasks. With it being summer, you won’t be letting the heat out while the window is open.

Here are a couple of thing to think about if you are going to be replacing the weatherstrip in your window or door. If your weatherstrip is 15 years or older, you need to take a look at it and also feel it. Is the existing weatherstrip in place and filling the void it was designed to close up? Or has the weatherstrip shrank, been chewed up by a pet, or compressed and no longer offering a seal? If so,then it is time to replace it.

Bring in a two inch sample and we will match yours with one of the four hundred different types of weatherstrip. We will sell you what you need whether it is steel, brass, pile, foam, rigid, semi rigid, etc. If you need a weatherstrip we don’t stock, we will try and locate some for you.
