In 2007, construction plans for the York Hill Campus of Quinnipiac University were launched as a way to expand the residential offerings for undergraduates of the school. As one of Hamden, CT’s main attractions, the university decided this was the best solution for ensuring its students would no longer have trouble finding places to live off campus. Being that this was such an important project for the city as a whole, The Suzio York Hill Companies is proud to have played a large role as the main supplier of all concrete products used throughout each of the eight phases of the campus’s development. The company has a long, illustrious history that spans more than a century as the go-to source for building material supply in the South Central area of Connecticut.

concrete Though the need for additional living quarters may have been the catalyst for the project, construction of the 240-acre campus also involved the TD Bank Sports Center, Rocky Top Student Center, and a parking garage. The Crescent Residence Hall stands nine stories tall and offers 400,00 square feet of interior space. This allowed Quinnipiac University to achieve their goal and provide 1,100 more students with apartment-style housing. The Suzio York Hill Companies had the opportunity to work closely with O&G Industries of Torrington on the two-year project while delivering the kind of quality concrete supplies that were necessary to complete the infrastructure of each building design.

Whenever construction plans call for ready-mix concrete products, there’s no doubt that The Suzio York Hill Companies is the number one distributor.
