Applying to colleges is an exciting process. The application process at Southeast Community College is easy, quick and straightforward. SCC, with locations in Beatrice, Lincoln, Milford, York, and online, offers associate degrees, diplomas and certificates in a variety of fields to support your career advancement and future success.

Here are the steps you need to take and what to expect when you apply to SCC. First, submit your application for admission online. You will need to have copies of your high school or college transcripts and test scores, such as COMPASS, ACT, or ASSET, sent to SCC. You will then receive a letter in the mail that will tell you which, if any, admissions requirements you still need to submit. 

Once you have met all of the admission requirements, you will be given a specific and guaranteed entry date for your program. Keep in mind that each Program of Study has its own requirements and that there are no standard admission requirements that apply to all programs. For example, some programs require a criminal background check. If you have applied to a Program of Study, you will work with and receive support from the Admissions Office. If you choose to take individual classes instead, you will work with and be supported by staff in the Registration and Records Office. 

Next, you will be assigned a student ID number, which appears on all correspondence received from SCC. If you are interested in receiving financial aid, you will work with the Financial Aid Office to submit a FAFSA form, which you can track on The Hub. Finally, you will receive information about orientation and registration dates prior to the start of the term in which you are scheduled to begin your program.
