Fastrackids have participated in a variety of scientific experiments including magnetism, flotation, molecular change and buoyancy. The children gained an understanding of the scientific method through these experiments and games.
Monday was a very fun and interesting day. We learned about the Dead Sea, why it is cloudier than normal water, and how nothing can sink in it. This is because of salt!
Fastrackids have learned about how a lot of salt in water makes everything float, and on top of that, makes the water cloudier.
We learned about a story of a turtle who lost an egg in a big hole full of water, and when he asked the kids to help, they fished it out using salt!
Molecules & Magnets
On Tuesday we learned about molecules and how they are frozen inside, fast if in liquid, and even faster inside gas! We made an experiment, putting liquids and solids together to see how they react! On top of that, we learned about the water cycle!
On Wednesday we learned more about molecules and how they slowly freeze in ice, and slowly start moving again when it melts. We learned that sugar dissolves in water, and how a puddle would slowly become smaller and smaller due to evaporation.
On Thursday we learned about magnets, and what would be able to connect to magnets. We learned about how the north and south magnets won't connect, and we learned how the memory of an electronic device will be lost if you connect a magnet to it.
