Charlotte AutoFair in Charlotte, NC, and hosted by Hornets Nest Regional, has seen a lot of antique cars come and go. They know that as your vehicle ages, proper interior cleaning is important to keep it looking great. With a few pointers, you'll know exactly how to keep the inside of your antique car spotless for you next car show.

They're here with a step-by-step approach to cleaning your car’s interior:

  • Vacuuming: Remove the floor mats and vacuum under the seats, around the pedals, along the dashboard, and on the center console. Be very careful when vacuuming leather seats, as they are easy to damage.
  • Cleaning Upholstery: Using a quality upholstery cleaner, clean one area at a time, paying close attention to spots until they are gone. Use a soft dry cloth to wipe it dry.
  • Cleaning Leather: Car leather is very delicate, especially in antique cars; use a specially formulated product for cleaning any leather in your car.
  • car showCarpet Cleaning: Work on one area of the carpet at a time, spraying cleaner evenly onto the carpet. When the entire carpet is cleaned, wipe it down thoroughly with a dry cloth.
  • Dashboard & Interior Plastic: Using a barely moist cloth, clean the center console, dashboard, and other plastic parts. Dry with a clean, soft cloth, and add polish to the plastic for a shiny look.
