STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) is powering the next generation. These five academic disciplines are the combination of driving forces behind today’s elementary, middle and high school classrooms. iCode, located in Frisco, TX, is happy to be a part of teaching innovation and creativity by offering computer classes in robotics, coding, app development, and more for young people.
Through iCode4Kids, student can also receive scholarships to participate in iCode's programs.
To qualify, participant students must be enrolled in an elementary, middle, or high school program. In addition, applicants are required to answer several questions and submit a PowerPoint or Prezi presentation about the importance of STEAM in today’s classroom.
Selected applicants can receive up to $1200 in scholarship, depending on their school grade and the quality of work they submit. This grant can be applied toward an 8-month program in one of the belts offered at iCode. A student is awarded an additional $100 CD when they complete all of the classes in that belt and is registered for the next level of coursework. In 2016 alone, iCode4Kids will be choosing 200 students for scholarships.
