Winter tree care is a very important matter. Sometimes its easy to think that just because trees have lost all their leaves and are dormant that they are not in need of any tree care. However, Winter can be a good time to assess your trees and take measures to increase your trees health and growth patterns in years to come.

1. While the leaves are off the trees it is a good time to inspect the branches and/or sections that may be declining in health. In the winter it is a great time for Arborist to inspect your tree and point out dead branches that may not have buds. Pruning during the winter is to be done on certain species of trees.

2. Do you have an Oak or Elm Tree? If so, now is the best time to have them trimmed. In fact, Winter is the most ideal time for these species of trees to be trimmed because it helps prevent diseases from spreading such as Hypoxylon Canker or Dutch Elm.

3. With leaves off the trees, Arborist can see the true structure of your trees. We can identify defects, and educate the best way to deal with any situation.

4. If you have a tree that has declined significantly and you are worried about its health consult an Arborist today. Winter time is key to removing trees due to the ground being frozen which helps prevent yard impact.
