You may be surprised to learn that Pacific in Vitro Fertilization Institute was one of the first fertility clinics Hawaii had. They opened in 1985, and since then, they’ve been highly respected for providing caring treatment, the most advanced procedures, and amazing results for each family who comes to them for help. While the entire team is incredibly welcoming and talented, they are led by an incredible physician and person.

Dr. Thomas Kosasa has had a varied career, and that variety has given him the expertise and passion to excel in the IVF field. He is a professor emeritus and past chief of reproductive endocrinology at the University of Hawaii, School of Medicine, but he did not begin in the medical field. He graduated from Dartmouth College with a degree in architecture and later earned his medical degree at the McGill University School of Medicine in Montreal, Canada. He went on to complete his residency in obstetrics and gynecology, then did a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology at Brigham and Women’s Medical Center in Boston.

Besides his work in in vitro in Hawaii, Dr. Kosasa is currently a consultant on maternal and reproductive health for the Food and Drug Administration.

He and his dedicated staff are there for you. They will take the time to answer any and all questions you may have. To make sure that their services are accessible and available, they keep the clinic open seven days a week, and to keep the quality as high as possible, they employ a team of experts—physicians, biologists, laboratory techs, nurses—so that you get the best care.
