Currently more than 190,000 people in Hawaii live on incomes that put them at risk of hunger, and 34% of those in need are children. Dips in the economy and tighter times have caused these numbers to increase dramatically in recent years. Thousands in Pearl City require help, which is why professional movers M. Dyer & Sons, Inc. has proudly teamed up with 'Move For Hunger' to support the Hawaii Foodbank.

As most people are aware, a hefty amount of “stuff” is tossed out when moving. Unfortunately too much of this “stuff” is food that could be delivered to a family in need! M. Dyer & Sons encourages every client to first set aside any unopened, non-perishable (boxes, cans, etc.) items before the move, and the professional moving company will bring these items to the Hawaii Foodbank. More than that, M. Dyer & Sons has recently been announced as an official drop-off point in Pearl City for non-perishable items intended for the Hawaii Foodbank.

'Move For Hunger' is a non-profit organization working with the relocation industry to support the efforts of local food banks. According to “Hunger in Hawaii 2010,” the most recent year statistics showed that the Hawaii Foodbank currently feeds 183,500 people statewide – over 14% of Hawaii’s population! Donations directly impact thousands of families in the Hawaii communities, and M. Dyer & Sons is honored to be a part of these incredible companies.
