The rSAT is this March, and if you’re a student or the parent of a student, your top priority is SAT prep. Peach State Tutoring & Test Prep, which serves Suwanee, Roswell, Johns Creek, Duluth, Milton, Cumming, Norcross, and Alpharetta, is an academic tutoring center focused on preparing students for the new SAT exam or the current ACT.

In its 30-year lifespan, the SAT is undergoing the most drastic changes this year. The tutors at Peach State Tutoring have been monitoring and evaluating the differences so they can best prepare students. The content on the new test will be similar to the current ACT—the primary difference is the method in which concepts are tested.

Positive changes that students will appreciate include no penalty for wrong answers, four multiple choice answers instead of five, and more familiar vocabulary words. However, the steps students are expected to use to solve problems correctly is anticipated to change. The new test focuses on reasoning and critical thinking skills, and students will be expected to address problems in a linear and sequential manner. In short, a student’s ability to comprehend information quickly will be paramount. Additionally, there will be a greater focus on foundational math skills, and students can expect complex reading passages.

All students in the class of 2017 and younger will be impacted by these changes, so it’s important that they know what to expect and prepare beforehand. Sign up your teen for SAT prep and help him/her prepare for a better future. For more information about SAT prep and the changes to the exam, reach out to Peach State Tutoring & Test Prep today by calling (678) 824-6890 or go online to find out when your student can take a free diagnostic exam.  Peach State Tutoring Website
