Spring is a time for new beginnings and new commitments to change. It is also a great time to review your insurance policies to make sure you have adequate auto insurance, homeowner insurance, and business insurance for the coming year. Daniel Oliver – Farmers Insurance Agent serving the Minneapolis area – offers the following tips for why you should take the time to perform a yearly insurance review.

  • Home Additions: Have you improved or added on to your home? If so, your currently homeowner insurance policy may not cover the improved value. Make sure you are fully protected in case of fire or storm damage.
  • Changes In Business Expenses: Does your business insurance reflect any changes in expenses that have occurred over the last year. If your business is interrupted, will your current coverage be enough to sustain your business until operations return to normal? Consult your insurance agent for advice.
  • Aging Automobiles: Do you still maintain full coverage auto insurance on one or more of your vehicles? As your vehicle ages, its value decreases to the point that maintaining full coverage no longer makes sense. In many cases, you can safely reduce the amount of insurance to cover only personal liability and property damage, instead of paying for comprehensive and collision coverage.

As you look to the year ahead and commit to improving your business, your personal productivity, and your relationships, check out the inspiring story of young brothers Connor and Cayden Long, who have taken such commitments to heart.
