About Onalaska Music Academy

There’s no better place for professional music instruction in Onalaska and the Greater La Crosse, WI area than Onalaska Music Academy. Since 2008, founder Lynn Maher has led a team of degreed, experienced music school instructors who believe that technical excellence is best achieved in a warm, nurturing environment. Whether you’re 6 or 76, a music teacher can help you become the best musician possible. Onalaska Music Academy offers a variety of classes geared to each student’s abilities, including:

  • Guitar Lessons: As a beginning guitar student, you’ll work on music theory, chords, sight reading, and simple songs. During your guitar lessons, you’ll learn how to play classical, country, metal, blues, and rock music on acoustic and electric guitars.
  • Drum Lessons: Onalaska Music Academy will supply the drums for these popular lessons. You only need to show up for your lesson with a pair of drum sticks. During drum lessons, you learn how to keep the beat in a variety of musical styles.
  • Violin Lessons: You’ll learn how to produce a great tune and achieve bow control during violin lessons. If you have a third or fourth grader, he or she may be interested in enrolling in Heartstrings, a game-based violin program designed specifically for children.
  • Other Instruments: Onalaska Music Academy offers flute, banjo, mandolin, ukulele, clarinet, and saxophone lessons, in addition to piano lessons.
  • Voice Lessons: Interested in improving your singing voice? Your music teacher will help you develop good tone production, breath control, vocal range, vibrato, and diction.

You won’t just learn how to play an instrument or improve your voice when you take lessons at this music school. You’ll also have plenty of opportunities to perform. Onalaska Music Academy students participate in at least four recitals each year. Recitals give students valuable experience performing in front of an audience and allow them ample opportunity to share their talents with the community.
