Your Local Craft Beer Bar & Restaurant
Introducing Lovecraft, NYC’s newest craft bar and restaurant. Located at Avenue B on East 4th, it’s named for a cult-favorite author of horror fiction - none other than H.P. Lovecraft. Everything from the drinks to the décor pays sly homage to him and his stories, and fans will love the bar's steampunk detailing and hand-painted, tentacled (yes, tentacled) murals.
But you don’t have to love Lovecraft the author to love Lovecraft the bar. You just need to adore a laid-back vibe, the coolest bartenders around and, of course, drinking. In that case, Lovecraft is your new favorite East Village haunt.
At the bar, you’ll find a range of serious specialty cocktails, like the tequila and vermouth Dropsey and Death in the Afternoon —that’s absinthe and champagne, a potent concoction attributed to Ernest Hemingway. The menu also offers an extensive selection of infused boozes (apple cinnamon bourbon, anyone?), plus craft beers on draft and bottled.
There’s food, too, from chicken wings to seafood linguine. And downstairs at Lovecraft there’s more fun to be had: live music, trivia nights, comedy shows, plus private party rooms. No event is too large or too small.
Lovecraft opened its doors in late 2014 and has already been voted best new bar of the year by a Village Voice readers’ poll. New York certainly has been waiting for an amazing, laid-back steampunk lair with absinthe-soaked specialty cocktails and trivia nights — and it got what it wanted.
When you’ve got a hankering for cult classic aesthetics and exceptional cocktails, visit Lovecraft in the East Village. Call (805) 622-7692 or visit their website to learn more about their menu, events and private party rooms.
